Phil grew up around music, with both parents having played in bands for as long as he can remember. He first took up playing bass aged 15 and, although he has dabbled in a few other instruments, bass remains his first love.

He has spent the majority of his musical career playing with Times Like These (a Foo Fighters tribute) until Phil joined Elements in 2008 as to deputise for the increasingly busy Dave Foley. When Dave moved on to other projects Phil joined Elements as their full time bass player in 2009.

Phil also dons afro wigs and sparkley shirts in his other band The Flares and spends his spare time getting high - which is legal for him as he has a pilots licence. We're not sure about the wig though....
